Four o clocksYellow and Fuschia 4 o clocks Uploaded by sunita_fleuriste on 2007-08-05, 17:06:07 into , Prized Flowers, Summer Beauty COMMENTSHave seeds to trade...check my wants list! Posted by sunita_fleuriste on 2007-08-07, 20:12:42 . Absolutely beautiful. I grew four o'clocks this year for the first time and loved them. Where did you get your plant or seeds? Loved your picture Posted by flora2 on 2007-10-28, 23:24:41 . what a beauty!!! I had the same in my back yard this year. I'd like to send a picture but I don't know how to do it. Let me know Posted by marruka on 2007-11-09, 22:26:42 . This is a stunning photograph of a Four O'Clock flower. For such simple, easy to grow flowers, they have a magnificent scent. I wish I could bottle it! Posted by gloriavictoria on 2007-11-18, 12:52:26 . Beautiful four o'clock! I've never seen the two colors together. I had the fuschia ones when we lived in FL - they tended to take over the yard! Do you have any seeds to spare? Posted by beauforttuberose on 2008-03-08, 20:06:19 . Very nice! Posted by butterflies072 on 2008-05-02, 10:01:57 . Oh, that is so pretty...I love yellow and pink together...I have some Lantana that has those two colors in one flower... Posted by iameve on 2008-05-02, 21:35:39 . Hippie, tie-dye chic! Imagine an entire bed of these! Posted by wildflower3 on 2008-05-21, 18:47:35 . How easy are they to grow? Posted by lorigarden on 2008-06-06, 22:52:11 . Very nice photo. I have bushes with broken colors, but I also have a bush with clear yellow and clear rose colored flowers. There are no broken colors on that bush. Has anybody seen something similar? Posted by tropiconsul on 2008-07-05, 18:32:16 . Gorgeous picture. I have a bush of broken or striped magenta and yellow like this one, and also one that is white and magenta, as well as solids in yellow, white, magenta, and pale pink. Lorigarden, to answer your question about whether they are hard to grow, all I can tell you is that in my zone 9 Mediterranean garden, they "grow like weeds", and pop up in places where I did NOT plant them. They also come back from tubers year after year. I got the seed by finding plants blooming alongside of roads in my town, and then returning in the Fall to collect the seeds. The first time I saw a plant blooming, I took a sprig to our local nursery, who identified it and said "Oh, that is a weed". Some weed! Posted by jacqueline3 on 2008-08-13, 14:36:39 . That is so beautiuful. Posted by iameve on 2008-08-15, 22:08:43 . We added to our Four O'Clocks this year, bought some on Craigslist. Some very pretty reds and whites Posted by ncstockguy on 2008-09-02, 15:21:04 . Dear sunit_fleuriste, This fuschia is telling me it's "nine - thirty"!!!! Thanks for the picture!
Posted by trailmixx on 2008-10-17, 17:41:27 . This is a Co-dominant allele. Posted by maybeamac on 2008-11-30, 18:04:01 . I had a lot growing - winderful colours but no scent. Does anyone else grow them without them being perfumed? I have lots of seeds and they keep well so could be sent Posted by sprais on 2009-01-18, 11:38:59 . Absolutely gorgeous photo I have the same colors in my garden. I would love to have some white. Any Ideas? I have always known the 4 o clocks as "supper time flowers" because they bloom at supper time and smell so wonderful. Posted by echo1449 on 2009-02-23, 22:35:24 . Beautiful flowers.
