Front Yard with Shaded Foundation Beds
I am new to this forum so hopefully I'm in the right place. Our front yard has sun but the foundation beds and window boxes (which are north-facing) get little to no measurable sunlight during the daytime. While all existing plants are doing well enough where they are - the overall design has no purpose and needs to be pulled together. My last thoughts were to rip most of the stuff out and possibly add a tree with some winter interest (maybe an amelanchier since the bark is supposed to be pretty & can take shade?) in front of picture window to left of front door...and maybe add a side bed with small clump of birch trees near driveway..? I've been looking at it for too long now so any ideas you might have would be most appreciated!
