This photograph is of Chris Kent of Sevier county, Tennessee posing with his new state record Carolina Cross watermelon at in Tennessee State in Nashville, Tennessee in early September, 2010. This melon weighed 264 pounds, beating the old state record of 262 pounds held for many years by Bill Carson of Arrington, Tennessee. The 262 pound Carson melon was a world record at the time it was grown.
