Umbrella Bamboo
Also known as a Fargesia "Coral Sunset", this Umbrella Bamboo belongs to non-invasive, clumping species of its genus. It is hardy (zones 5-9) enough to overwinter in my New England garden. The gracefully arching coral-colored canes have attractive dark green leaves which do not yellow in winter. The Umbrella Bamboo grows up to 8 feet tall with a spread of about 4 feet. It is ideal as a hedge or privacy screen or yard divider. Its canes, when cut and dried, are excellent for accents and arrangements.
