near Spackenkill, NY Anyone know what this is? It's 2 inches long, very pretty grooves on it and it has a dried stem. Her cat is finding them at the edge of a stream. It seems to be near where the ferns grow, almost seems like some ferns grow from them, but can't be sure. Curious to see what they are, but also want to make sure they are not dangerous for the cat to be playing with.
